Kelly Clarkson has dropped out of a benefit concert in the wake of her ex-husband (and father of her two children) Brandon Blackstock's death.
The singer was scheduled to appear at Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum's Band Together Texas event taking place on Sunday to support those affected by the floods in July. However, Clarkson has canceled as a result of Blackstock's death last week, according to a since-expired Instagram Stories post from the concert's organizers.
"Unfortunately, Kelly Clarkson will be unable to appear at Band Together Texas as planned, due to personal circumstances," the statement read, according to Taste of Country and *American Songwriter*. "We send our love to Kelly and her family."

Blackstock, a former talent manager who was also the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire, died Aug. 7 at 48 following a three-year battle with cancer. Clarkson separated from Blackstock in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage, but the singer postponed the rest of her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to be present for their two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander.
"I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding," Clarkson said.**
